Forward to Done All the Time

Foreword

Done All The Time is a chronological exposé of a family tragedy. An event imposed on us and mainly suffered by my wife and youngest son (5th child of five children). Not a day or night went by without praying for our son in the jaws of the justice system. This young man’s MOTHER is, and always has been, relentless in the pursuit of his release (MAMA BEAR). The day-to-day events, the phone calls, the monitoring of his Facebook page messages for him, the lawyers who dropped by the wayside, the letters written and the promises unkept over the thirteen years he was away made his siblings suffer with him as we all did the best we could until the day…Until that day.

That Day finally arrived. We heard good news and we knew he would soon be with us again. He has grown and learned so much that Allah has blessed him with another chance, a new mindset, a new spirit, a sense of self-worth, and, as he puts it, a new “Thinking for a Change.”

His MOTHER’s cry, “I hadn’t finished raising him yet,” resonates as she describes how he was swept away from before our eyes, and, “We do this all the time” became our reality. More than anything, we tried to ease her pain and support her every move, attempt, and strategy to secure justice from the jaws of a peculiar and particular institution that manifested its unwarranted position upon us.
